Sailing

BSDRA Finals: A tough weekend for the Fevas, who finished in 17th , but won races on both days. This was a great experience for them as a young crew. The 2nd VI came 16th of 21, and hopefully will have learnt a huge amount.

The 1st VI just scraped into the gold league after gaining 11 wins from 14 races, progressing into the knockouts with 3 wins from 5 in the gold league (including a win over Sevenoaks). Giving it all they could, they won their semi against RGS convincingly, but then lost the final to Sevenoaks. The team finished 2nd overall, the same position as last year – and in doing so, kept the record of a top 3 finish since 2006 intact!

Rowing

The rowers had a fantastic Sunday at Thames Valley Park Regatta, a 3-lane knockout event. All crews rowed exceptionally well against some strong competition, leading to multiple nail-biting races.

In the J16 single category, both Gregg and Bradbery came 3rd in their respective heat.  In the J14 quad category, the boys came 2nd in their heat (with three of the rowers racing for the first time, and in the A Division!), whilst MJ in the J14 single came second in his final.

The boys who took part in the J15 category progressed well, with the J15 double coming second in their heat, the quad finishing in second place in the semi final, and Underwood winning the event in the J15 single.

Furthermore, Pullinger, competing in the Schools single division finished 2nd in the final, an amazing achievement as he was racing up an age category against two Team GB hopefuls.

Congratulations to all who took part in the event.

Team of the week

Team of the week is awarded to the 1st VI Sailors for finishing 2nd at the BDRSA competition.

Performance of the day

Performance of the day awarded to Fin Szafnauer who finished 16th at the British Schools Championship. On his handicap he was rated 122nd out of 125 players, which makes this all the more remarkable. He finished 6 over after 4 rounds!
