Could there possibly be a more auspicious start to the Michaelmas Term than a glowing review in the Tatler Schools Guide 2021?

The guide really captures the MCS ethos, calling us “unashamedly academic” yet highlighting the “serious fun” pupils have during the school day.

There’s also high praise for the “healthy and hearty food” on offer, our strong extra-curricular programme and our Partnerships work, of which they call us “understandably proud”. The newly launched Rose Hill Community Larder even gets a mention.

"Magdalen College School, on the banks of the River Cherwell in the heart of Oxford, is unashamedly academic, but, according to Head Helen Pike, 'we have serious fun here'"

"Pupils are fuelled by healthy and hearty food; the lasagne rivals that found in Italian restaurants and the school embraced Veganuary"

"Magdalen is understandably proud of its Partnerships Programme, which sees pupils volunteer at over 50 local organisations, including a clever newly launched community larder"

The Tatler Schools Guide is an impartial guide to all the best public and prep schools in the UK. Each year the Tatler Schools’ team of researchers visit hundreds of schools, showcasing the best of them in the September issue.
