The MCS Leadership and Mentoring Programme offers a range of leadership roles to Sixth Formers, tailored to their interests and strengths; most of the roles involve working directly with younger pupils and they are designed to be fulfilling and rewarding for the Sixth Formers involved, as well as the younger pupils they are interacting with.

By playing an active role in working with younger pupils and leading activities, Sixth Formers gain valuable skills which will be of benefit to them in a variety of ways during their time at school and university, and in establishing their career. Sixth Formers are also able to learn through working closely with a staff member.

The scheme strengthens the school’s support for younger pupils, with Sixth Formers well positioned to appreciate the concerns and feelings of younger pupils, and to coach and advise them with reference to their own recent experience.
