From Rev Wealands Bell, Chaplain:

On 13 March the Second Form made its annual visit to the Oxford Jewish Community in Jericho, to be entertained, instructed and encouraged in our understanding of Judaism by Congregant and former MCS parent, Dr Cyril Levicki.  We were able to see aspects of the religion (an integral part of the Second Form Theology syllabus) in action, especially the impressive array of Torah Scrolls, resplendent in the beautiful Ark commissioned for the 175th anniversary of the Synagogue a few years ago.

Dr Levicki explained the shape of the Jewish week and year, running through the festivals and each of the foods and practices associated with them. He demonstrated recitation from the Torah (a tricky task without vowels or musical notation), and answered a wide range of questions posed by his eager and inquisitive audience.
