On Thursday 24 January, the Lower 4th visited the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden, London, Europe’s first traditional stone Hindu Temple, as part of their new Hinduism course.

After learning about the construction of the Mandir (a colossal three year effort funded entirely by donations and the work of thousands of volunteers), the boys were fortunate enough to experience a traditional Arti ceremony in the Mandir’s marble hall. They then explored a magnificent exhibition celebrating everything from the history and theology of Hinduism to contemporary practices across the world.

The visit finished with what for many was the highlight of the day – a lavish vegetarian meal and a visit to the nearby sweet shop!
