U16 National Cup: The U16As played Marlborough College in the second round of this competition. MCS lead 2-1 going into the final five minutes of play, only for  Marlborough scored a late equaliser. This took the game to a penalty shootout in which MCS unfortunately lost 3-2. They now progress into the plate competition.

County Tournament: The U12s finished third in their county tournament, following narrow 1-0 defeats to Abingdon and New College. Their best performance of the day was a 2-1 win against Bloxham. 


v Tudor Hall: 1st VII won 22-12; 2nd VII lost 28-18; 3rd VII lost 47-5. 

Rugby 7s

The 1st VII played Stowe in a training fixture on Wednesday. The team competed well, winning two, drawing one and losing two of the 5 games.


The 1st team played Peter Symonds’ College in their National Cup competition. They finished 8-4 winners to progress into the last 16. They will play Haberdasher’s for a spot in the National Finals.

Cross Country

MCS entered strong sides into the County Championships last Thursday. There were a number of excellent performances on the day, with Ben Sims finishing third and Freddie Jones sixth in the junior event. Robert Doorly finished sixth and Theo Cooke tenth in the Senior Boys’ competition. Poppy Webb (fourth), Mollie Darwent (sixth), Hannah Betts (eighth) and Amelia Parkes (ninth) all took part, meaning that four MCS Senior girls qualified for the first time.
