Behind the lens

The MCS Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition was of a very high standard, with over 150 photographs entered.

Award-winning wildlife photographer Paul Stewart judged the entries and commented on the "really great selection of diverse images with some definite surprises!"

You can see the best entries below. These stunning photos will be on display during Oxford Festival of the Arts from 24 June in the Festival Marquee.

Overall Winner: Isaac West - Puffins.

Overall runner-up: Freddy Rich - lying dog

Sixth Form: 1st Mathew Doorly - Sheep; 2nd Joe Woodman – Small white butterfly; 3rd Annie Lloyd - Fungi in frost.

Lower School: 1st D Harrington - flower meadow; 2nd Nihar Lohan - ponies
