On Monday 27th June, acclaimed children's author Philip Reeve delighted an audience of primary school children, teachers and parents at an event in the Spit marquee.

As well as talking about the inspiration for the fantastical world of his traction cities, Mr Reeve also produced an intricate drawing of one at lightning speed and also created a cartoon of King Arthur, the subject of his Carnegie Medal winning novel Here Lies Arthur.

The Arts Festival audience was also privileged to be the first to hear an extract from a new story written by Mr Reeve that very morning on his journey to Oxford.
