Philip Ardagh Schools Book Event
Philp Ardargh delighted 400 Primary School children at the Oxford Playhouse with an incredibly energetic performance where he talked about his (self-proclaimed) favourite topic of conversation... himself! Mr Ardargh spoke about his childhood and the ideas that have since come to life in his books such as Eddie Dickens and Grubtown Tales. Clearly very at home on the stage Mr Ardargh ran around getting the kids to join in with stroking their own imaginary beards to help them think and answering all of his weird and wonderful questions. The buzz in the air as the children excitedly bought books for him to sign fulfilled the ultimate aim of this event: to get primary school children reading more and for pleasure.
Huge thanks must go to the charity Bookfeast for the organisation of this event. |
