New Appointment for MCS's Usher

Steffan Griffiths has been appointed as the new Head Master at Norwich School.  He will be replacing the existing head, Jim Hawkins, who is taking on the post of  Master at Harrow.

A Classics graduate from Oxford, Mr Griffiths started out at Tonbridge School before moving on to Eton College, where he was a house master and headed up the hockey. He also holds four hockey 'blues', and has represented England at U 18 and U 21s level.

Geoffrey Copeman, chairman of the board of governors at Norwich School said: "Steffan Griffiths joins from Magdalen College School, which has regularly been one of the top performing schools nationally, both at A level and GCSE.  In addition, his all round involvement and contribution to school life in all his posts made him an impressive candidate".

The Master of MCS, Mr Tim Hands, said: "We wish Steffan, his wife Harriet and their three children the very best at Norwich and thank him for all he has brought to MCS during his time here".

Mr Griffiths takes up the post in September.
