Magdalen College School marked another landmark on Wednesday afternoon as the girls hockey team took to the pitch for their first ever competitive fixture against Wychwood School.

With only six training sessions since their arrival, the girls took to the field full of purpose. Gabi Mabon and Marqaux Wilson took an early control over the game, whilst strikers Rachel Nash and Charlotte Gurr looked a constant threat. It was Wilson who broke the deadlock before half-time putting MCS one-nil up at the break.

The second half saw Magdalen's quality shine through, with new recruits Parisa Miri and Sophie Peake settling into the side well. Wilson doubled the MCS advantage with a sharp shot into the bottom left-hand corner, before a fine pass from Camilla Brown found Gurr who put the result beyond doubt.

Well done to the girls and their coach Todd Williams for their excellent start to the season, and good luck with the rest of their fixtures this term!
