Frank Gardner Talk

MCS was delighted to host the BBC Security Correspondent Frank Gardner as a keynote speaker during this years' Art Festival. Mr Gardner spoke in depth about his own career development as a journalist, the Arab Spring and the conflict in Libya, offering fascinating insights and anecdotes about Arab culture and politics. Mr Gardner even discussed the traumatic circumstances in which he was shot six times in Saudi Arabia in 2004 and how his subsequent injuries have affected his life as a journalist.

After his talk Mr Gardner hosted a seminar with senior pupils about Middle Eastern politics specifically and life as a journalist on the front line. MCS would like to thank Mr Gardner for his inspiring words of advice to the pupils that attended.
