David Blunkett Talk
The Right Hon David Blunkett MP is one of the most experienced and outspoken figures in modern party politics, and MCS were delighted to host him during the recent Arts Festival. Mr Blunkett spoke animatedly about his life as a Sheffield councillor, an MP, then as a government Minister under Tony Blair, serving as both Home Secretary and Education Secretary during the Iraq War. Mr Blunkett also talked about the challenges he has faced as a disabled politician.
After his talk Mr Blunkett spoke to a small group of A-Level Politics students, answering questions on a wide range of topics including the leadership of Tony Blair, why Gordon Brown lost the 2010 election and why there seems to be a prevalent mood of political apathy in modern society. MCS would like to thank Mr Blunkett for his inspiring words and candid answers. |
