The History and English Departments took 19 U4th boys to the Battlefields of France and Belgium over the Easter holidays. The boys visited the battlefields of the Somme and Ypres Salient as well as a number of Commonwealth and German war cemeteries and memorials. There was a poignant Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate and visits to the graves of two old boys - John Callender, whose name is inscribed at Tyne Cot and Noel Chavasse VC, who is buried just outside Ypres.
