OW Tom Scriven (2017) is currently making his mark for the England U19 cricket team in South Africa, as the travellers notched up a third consecutive win in their Tri-Series tournament.
Tom, who reached an unbeaten 88 from 72 balls out of a team total of 269 for six, was singled out for praise: “Scriven ... played really well, because we were under a bit of pressure,” said England’s head coach Richard Dawson. “Tom played ... maturely and you could say his was a match-winning contribution."
England will now play South Africa again in the series final, before heading for New Zealand for the World Cup after Christmas.
