Sports in the Sixth Form
Major Sports There are major sports offered each term, which feature full fixture lists against other schools. Sixth Formers are encouraged to take part in the Major Sport each term, but it is not compulsory to do so.

Minor Sports It is also possible to play other sports competitively or recreationally and these are offered to both boys and girls. The following are currently offered as Sixth Form Games options:
Some of these sports are only offered in one or two terms rather than throughout the year; each term Sixth Formers make choices of which sports they want to do. Members of the Sports Department and other SCR teachers are supplemented by a range of external coaches across a variety of sports.
All Sixth Formers have Games sessions each week on Wednesday afternoons. A further session takes place on Mondays, during period 6 and into lunchtime. On Thursday after school there is a further practice for those playing in school teams in the Major Sports.
Matches take place midweek and on Saturdays.

Conditioning The fitness suite is open for Sixth Formers to use most lunchtimes, after school and in school holidays. Sixth Formers are encouraged to follow a personal programme designed by specialist conditioning coaches at the school.
Kit Requirement Pupils will require PE Kit and Games Kit: there is a separate Sixth Form Uniform and Kit list which outlines kit requirements in detail.
Mouth guards (gum shields) are compulsory and must be worn at every rugby and hockey session. We recommend that parents consult their dentist. Shin pads are also compulsory for all hockey (and any soccer) sessions.

House Sport
A range of year group sporting activities take place at lunchtimes and after school. There are whole school festivals for Swimming, Cross-Country and Athletics. Points won contribute to an overall House Competition.
Commitment to practices and fixtures
Many pupils continue with their major sports throughout the school and compete for positions in School teams, attending regular extracurricular practices. Training takes place in the holidays, in Games time, at lunchtimes and after school.
It is the pupils' responsibility to check the sports notice board for arrangements and team selection. When selected for a school team, pupils are expected to attend and to represent the school under normal circumstances.
