Drama is a thriving activity, with many pupils participating enthusiastically both on stage and behind the scenes.
The directors John Caird and Sam Mendes, and playwright Nick Thomas, are old boys and recent sixth former Jonathan Bailey has starred in the West End and Hollywood.
Our theatre is the school hall (Big School) which has recently been much improved by generous grants from the Parents Association for the installation of a computerised lighting system and new scenery and curtains.
There are at least three major productions each year, as well as various plays directed by pupils. There is scope both for the serious actor and, in the large cast productions, for budding actors to take on smaller roles. Additionally there is a technical crew and set construction and painting team .
Drama has been introduced to the Lower School curriculum with second formers following a drama course for a double lesson each week for half of the school year.
