Clubs and Societies are a major part of school life. They chiefly take place in the lunch hour and after school. There are over 100 Clubs, Societies and other activities, and new ones are regularly being started. The Activities Booklet gives full details.

The school has a thriving tradition in the performing Arts. There are extensive Music and Drama programmes and the school has its own Arts Festival.

The school is also proud of its Sport, which, like the Arts, benefits from outstanding facilities in the school, and also in the University and city.

The CCF, Community Service and Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme are popular extra-curricular activities, especially in older years.
