At 11+ all applicants to MCS are automatically assessed for all awards. There are no special papers or procedures.

At 13+ and 16+ all existing pupils are assessed for Academic Scholarships without any need for application; external applicants apply for awards as set out here. Details of how existing pupils should apply for Art, Music and Sports Scholarships can be found here.

How Awards are made

All awards for each year group are made in the year preceding. Awards are made by the Master, as soon as possible after decisions about entry to the school are made and/or exam results are known. In addition, the Master chairs an annual meeting of senior members of staff in the Trinity term, which scrutinises all aspects of the school's Scholarship and Bursary provision, and makes awards to internal candidates.
