Advice on Careers is available to any MCS pupil at any time. In the Fifth Form all pupils are offered Morrisby Profiling. Each pupil then has an interview with the Master, discussing career, A Level and university issues, followed by sessions with tutors and subject specialists, and mostpupils undertake work experience after GCSEs and the school assists with placements. There is a highly popular annual Careers Fair.
Virtually all pupils progress into higher education, many after a GAP Year. Although the University destination table for the last fifteen years shows Cambridge and Oxford as the two most popular destinations, pupils opt for a healthy mix of institutions, selecting those which best suit their needs.
Higher education and GAP Year guidance is begun at the half-way point in the Lower Sixth. It includes Coursefinder questionnaires, a Higher Education Evening, and a comprehensive programme of internal talks and seminars.
